Questions
Questions people ask before they call
Do you take my insurance?
We file claims with PPO dental plans and are out of network with DHMO plans. Dental plans often pay little toward sedation. See how fees work for the full answer.
What if I don't have insurance?
You pay at the visit, and you get the fee in writing before we start. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.
Do you accept Medicaid or CHIP?
We are not enrolled with Medicaid or CHIP, and we can help you find a practice that is.
Will it hurt?
We numb the area before treatment, and you can ask us to stop at any time. We can't promise how a visit will feel, but we will keep checking in.
How often do I need X-rays and a cleaning?
Your dentist decides, based on your gums, your history and what we see. You can ask why.
What is a deep cleaning?
A deeper cleaning goes below the gumline, usually over more than one visit, when gums have pulled away from the teeth. Your dentist explains if you need one.
Do you see children?
We see adults. If your child needs a dentist, we will help you find a pediatric practice.
What counts as a dental emergency?
Swelling that spreads to your face, eye or neck, trouble breathing or swallowing, or bleeding that won't stop needs emergency care now. Go to an emergency room or call 911. For a knocked-out or broken tooth, call our office right away.
Do you offer sedation, and who gives it?
Yes: nitrous oxide, oral sedation and IV sedation. Each is given by a dentist who holds the permit for that level, and for IV sedation a second team member watches only you. The Comparison on the home page shows the levels side by side.
Can I get a written estimate before treatment?
Yes. You get one before any treatment, with each step and its fee, and sedation as its own line.
Do you speak Spanish?
Our dentists don't speak Spanish. If you'd like an interpreter, ask when you book and we will arrange one.
How do I cancel or change a visit?
Call us as early as you can. Sedation visits take extra time, so we ask for a few days' notice where we can, and we won't scold you if you need to move one.
Still have a question?
Call, or ask for a visit and we will call you back.
