How fees work
Sedation is billed on top of treatment, so here is how paying works, in the order most patients ask.
Insurance we work with
We file claims with PPO dental plans as an in-network or out-of-network practice, depending on the plan, and we are out of network with DHMO plans. Dental plans often pay little or nothing toward sedation, and we tell you before you schedule. We are not enrolled with Medicaid or CHIP, and we can help you find a practice that is.

DHMO plans: out of network
Medicaid and CHIP: not enrolled
If you pay yourself
If you have no plan, or you'd rather not use it, we give you the fee in writing before we start, with sedation as its own line. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.

Receipts for reimbursement
After each visit we give you an itemized receipt. You can send it to a plan that reimburses out-of-network care. Whether the plan pays, and how much, is the plan's decision.

An estimate in advance
You can ask for a written estimate before any treatment. If you're paying without insurance, we give you a written estimate in advance, when you schedule or whenever you ask. It lists each step we expect, the sedation level you chose, and the fee for each.

Checking your benefits
We check what your plan says about your treatment and about sedation before the visit, and call you with what we find. A caregiver or a program that pays can ask for the same. A plan's answer isn't a promise of payment.
We call the plan for you
Ask about sedation, specifically
The practice replaces these answers with its own.
